What can I expect on Sunday morning (and other common questions)?
How should I dress?
Most people will be dressed casually (jeans, shirt, tennis shoes, etc). Some will be in professional wear (skirt, slacks, heels, etc) or more dressed-up church clothes. Pretty much anything is OK - even shorts and T-shirts. Please keep modesty in mind.
What is your Sunday morning schedule?
  • 9:00 AM English Worship Service
We begin with music worship followed by greeting one another. Then we have a time of sharing prayer requests or praises followed by more worship through music. Then there is a message.
  • 9:00 AM Khmer Sunday School
  • 10:15 AM Fellowship Time
During this time, we go downstairs for donuts, cereal, coffee or tea.
  • 10:45 AM Combined Worship
The Khmer and English speakers in the congregation come to together to worship and greet each other. Some announcements will be repeated from the 9 AM English Service.
  • 11:00 AM Khmer Worship Service
  • 11:00 AM English Sunday School
How long are the services?
The English and Khmer Services last about an hour and fifteen minutes. The Combined Worship and Greeting lasts from fifteen to thirty minutes.
What is your music like?
Our music is modern worship music with guitars, some drums, and a keyboard/piano. We occasionally sing hymns.
What are the messages like?
Messages are bible-based, dynamic, and can be applied to your everyday life. The messages are most often given by Joe Ginder, but also by other leaders in our church. You can check out past sermons online.
Will I be singled out as a guest?
We encourage our guests to participate in the service (singing, sharing). We won't single you out in the English service, but guests will be asked to stand in the combined service, because in Asian culture, it is polite to greet guests. But don't be worried, we won't make you say anything while you're standing!
Will someone from the church contact me?
If you would like to be contacted, we will contact you. There are green welcome cards in the pews where you will sit. You may fill one out and drop it in the offering plate or put it on the table at the back of the sanctuary or hand it to someone who looks official. We will send you a thank you card for joining us and follow up as you request on the card.
What will my children do?
All children's programs will run during the last half of the 9 AM English Service and after the Combined Worship. Pre-school aged and under children will be supervised in the Nursery. Children in grades K-5 will go to Sunday School classes.
